Types of Country Club Memberships, Mapped to Bella Vista Plans

Types of country club memberships usually fall into a few industry buckets: full golf, weekday golf, casual or limited play, and learn-to-play. Some clubs add a true social-only card, a junior-only card, or an equity share. Bella Vista Country Club in Marlboro, New Jersey, publishes named plans that map to those buckets on membership. Use those names. Do not treat marketing labels on other pages as official SKUs.

This guide translates the industry types into Bella Vista’s 2026 roster: Swing Away, Casual Golfer, Full, Weekday, and Casual Golfer Introductory. Fees are not quoted here. The live membership page currently shows conflicting Full and Weekday figures. Call 732-308-4600 and confirm before you enroll.

Industry types, then the Bella Vista names

When people search types of country club memberships, they usually mean access level, not a legal entity. The common pattern:

  • Full / unlimited golf — home-course card, including peak weekend mornings
  • Weekday golf — heavy midweek play, limited weekends
  • Casual / limited golf — pay when you play, round cap, later tee windows
  • Learn-to-play — lessons and a short set of rounds
  • Social / dining — clubhouse first; golf limited or none
  • Junior / young professional — age-banded discounts at some clubs
  • Equity / share — you buy a piece of a member-owned club

Bella Vista is family-owned (founded 1995, Beshara family), not an equity club. You apply; you do not buy a share. There is no published product labeled “initiation.” Confirm the 2026 fee structure on the membership page. Address: 100 School Road East, Marlboro, NJ 07746.

Warning: marketing names on the tiers page are not SKUs

A related page, golf membership tiers, lists three buckets with no prices: “Full Golf Membership,” “Junior & Young Professional Membership,” and “Social & Lifestyle Membership.” Those last two are not official SKUs on the membership page.

The published junior path is Swing Away and Casual Golfer (which name juniors), plus dependent children under 21 on Full and Weekday. No standalone junior-only price list: junior golf membership. Social shoppers map to Casual Golfer, not a zero-golf SKU: social membership at a country club. When pages disagree, follow the membership page.

Type 1: Full golf → Full Membership

Industry full golf means unlimited play and the best tee-time access the club sells. Bella Vista’s Full Membership is written that way:

  • Unlimited golf on the private 18 (Par 70, 5,923 yards on the course tour)
  • Exclusive weekday and weekend early tee times Tuesday through Sunday
  • Unlimited range and putting green (check in with the pro shop)
  • Bag-drop greeting, club and shoe cleaning
  • VIP reservations for dining and club events
  • Club charge account
  • Optional dependents: spouse, significant other, children under 21, same address, verification required

Choose this type if early Saturday is the point of joining. Advance tee times are still required. Proper golf attire is mandatory. The club is closed Monday.

Type 2: Weekday golf → Weekday Membership

Bella Vista’s Weekday Membership is unlimited weekday golf; early times Tuesday through Friday; six weekend rounds at prevailing green fees; unlimited range and putting green; the same bag-drop, cleaning, VIP, charge-account, and dependent language as Full. Weekend golf is a defined allotment. If you will burn it by Memorial Day, shop Full.

Type 3: Casual / limited golf → Casual Golfer (and Introductory)

Bella Vista publishes two Casual-flavored blocks. Casual Golfer is pay-when-you-play for casual golfers, juniors, and ladies who play up to about 20 rounds a year and still use club and social amenities. Listed pieces include prepaid member cart fees, rounds at tee-time rates, golf Tuesday–Sunday, limited range and putting green, club cleaning, restaurant / lounge / events, and guests always welcome. Published starts: 7:30 a.m. Tuesday–Thursday; 10:30 a.m. Friday–Sunday.

Casual Golfer Introductory is listed as exclusively offered here: no dues, no food minimums, no commitments, pay only when you play, with up to 20 rounds at green-fee rates plus holiday tournaments, range check-in, lockers, VIP restaurant and holiday reservations, and a full social agenda. The two Casual blocks do not use identical published figures. Confirm with the club. This article states no fees. Social shoppers start here; it is not a dining-only SKU.

Type 4: Learn-to-play → Swing Away Membership

Bella Vista’s Swing Away Membership is labeled a gift for the new golfer and designed for men, ladies, and juniors to learn with the PGA professionals. Published inclusions: clubs and bag, bag tag, four half-hour lessons, six rounds, bag storage, driving range, seasonal club membership, dining privileges. That is a defined package, not Full golf. Two PGA professionals are on staff. Ask the shop about lessons beyond the package; do not invent a lesson menu here.

Types Bella Vista does not sell as named plans

  • No equity / share membership. Family-owned operator model.
  • No named initiation-fee product. Do not relabel the annual membership fee as classic initiation.
  • No standalone junior-only price list. Juniors ride Swing Away, Casual, or dependents under 21.
  • No clearly labeled zero-golf social SKU. Social maps to Casual.
  • No racquet, pool, or fitness memberships. Those facilities are not published. No golf simulator either.

Published facilities are golf, practice, dining, events, lockers, and instruction. Amenity list: country club amenities.

How to choose a type without overbuying

Early weekends most weeks → Full. Midweek unlimited plus a few weekends → Weekday. About 20 rounds plus dinner → Casual. Still learning → Swing Away. Call Anthony Beshara at 732-308-4600 for a trial tee time, tour, and membership discussion. Read how to join a country club, then apply at membership-application or contact. No published sponsor requirement.

Frequently asked questions

What types of country club memberships does Bella Vista offer?

Named plans on the membership page: Swing Away, Casual Golfer, Full, Weekday, and Casual Golfer Introductory. Those map to learn-to-play, limited/casual golf, unlimited golf, and weekday golf. Confirm 2026 names and privileges with the club.

Is “Junior & Young Professional” an official membership type?

Not on the live membership page. It is a marketing label on the tiers page. Use Swing Away, Casual, or Full/Weekday dependents under 21 instead, and confirm with the club.

Is there a social-only membership type?

Not as a separately priced zero-golf SKU. Casual Golfer is the published dining-and-lifestyle path with limited golf. Ask the club if you want almost no golf.

Do I need a sponsor for any type?

Live membership and application pages do not require a member sponsor. Call if your situation is unusual.

Pick the named plan, not a nickname

Types of country club memberships only help if they map to a real SKU. At Bella Vista, that list is on membership, not the tiers-page marketing names. Call 732-308-4600, visit 100 School Road East, Marlboro, NJ 07746, and apply at membership-application when the 2026 plan matches how you play.
